Hello there!
Welcome to The Alba Explorers Centre for Outdoor Innovation, our newly launched Community Interest Company (CIC) dedicated to creating life-changing outdoor educational experiences. Through environmental learning, skills for future rural jobs, and biodiversity projects, we’re reconnecting children, young people, and the wider community with nature.
Our Journey Continues!
The Alba Explorers Centre For Outdoor Innovation
A Community Interest Company (CIC) is a special type of organization designed to benefit the community, not make a profit. At The Alba Explorers Centre for Outdoor Innovation, this means we are laser-focused on using the great outdoors to create life-changing experiences for children, young people, and the wider community. Unlike traditional companies, CICs reinvest any profits back into the community, ensuring that all funds raised directly support our mission. Whether through grants, donations, or fundraising efforts, every penny helps us grow our impact and deliver exceptional educational programs.

Our Mission and Vision

At The Alba Explorers Centre for Outdoor Innovation, we’re reimagining outdoor learning. Our goal is to provide the most forward-thinking, creative, and impactful activities available - far beyond the typical offerings of outdoor activities, forest schools or adventure days. From immersive environmental education to rural job skills training, we’re dedicated to equipping the next generation with knowledge, resilience, and a deep respect for nature. Our programmes aim to reconnect people with the natural world, fostering a sense of stewardship and responsibility while also building practical skills for the future.

Looking for a Physical Space

As we continue to grow, we are on the lookout for the perfect physical space to serve as our Centre of Outdoor Innovation. We envision a place where children and young people can experience the outdoors in new, transformative ways - whether that’s through biodiversity projects, rewilding initiatives, or team-building activities in wild spaces. While we work towards securing this space, our programmes will continue to be delivered through schools and community projects.

How We Operate

Our CIC operates through grant income, donations, and fundraising efforts. By securing this crucial funding, we can provide highly subsidised outdoor learning experiences for schools, families, and community groups. These contributions allow us to make our most ambitious programmes accessible to those who need them most, ensuring that finances never become a barrier to experiencing the great outdoors.

Why Choose Us?

We’re not just another outdoor education provider. We’re committed to pushing the boundaries of what outdoor learning can be, offering innovative programmes that combine environmental education, leadership development, and hands-on experience in nature. Our approach is heavy-hitting, transformative, and designed to leave a lasting impact on every participant. From future-proofing rural job skills to reconnecting people with nature, we’re passionate about delivering results that go well beyond the classroom.
